Wildwood Crest offers the best of both worlds: free access to the famous wide Wildwood beaches, but with a quieter, more family-focused atmosphere than its busier neighbor. Located at the southern end of the barrier island, the Crest is known for spectacular sunsets and a more relaxed vibe.
The beaches here are just as wide and beautiful as Wildwood proper—sometimes requiring a 10-minute walk to reach the water at low tide—but with fewer crowds, especially at the southern end. Many families prefer the Crest for its calmer atmosphere while still being a short drive or bike ride to the boardwalk.
Wildwood Crest has its own collection of classic Doo-Wop motels and a small commercial area along Pacific Avenue. Sunset Lake offers bay views and fishing, and the town's parks provide family-friendly recreation options.
